An Unforgetable Experience
Fifteen years ago,I had an unforgetable experience and I still remember that very clearly untill now. That year, I just quit the job in the kindergarten then I got a new job in a language center very soon. At first I felt I was so lucky, but later, I found I almost couldn't get used to it.
That is just because I had a special boss, Judy. She is an optimistic, positive, severe and ambitious person. To be her employees, we had to face a lot of challenges. First of all, we always had to spend much time to attend to her training courses even during the holidays or after working time. And she always invited her friends who are experts in something to make a speech for us. Sometimes she asked us to join the activities which were about training people to be a leader. She always wanted her employees to be very excellent workers just like herself. That's why she got me the chance to have this unforgetable experience.
One day my "dear" boss,Judy, came into the language center and announced an important piece of news: "Next month we are going to have a discussion meeting for parents and teachers. And I plan to choose five teachers to make a speech for parents. Each teacher has to prepare a topic about children education to speak for at least half hour." She said. Unfortunately, I was one of the five "lucky"persons. "What? Making a speach? Standing on the
platform and speak to a lot of parents? It's impossibleļ¼"That was my first response on my mind when I just heart this news.
Later,I told myself not to worry too much. I would figure out a best way to face this pressure. Then,I talked to my father. He encouraged me to accept it and gave me confidence. I started to gather materials from library, bookstores, and asked my friends for help.( what a pity, we didn't have the internet to search at that time) When I finished writing the content of my speech,I stood in front of a big mirror and practice to speak again and again. I wanted to improve my expression by this way.
Soon after, the speech day is coming. Although I had enough preparing,I was still very strained before I stood on the platform when I saw a large audiences. But, when it was my turn,I stood on the platform and made a fluent speech.I got a lot of clapping from my audiences. I felt very exciting. It proved that I could do it .
After that, when I met any difficulties or challenges I always told myself trying to do that before deciding to give up. If I didn't "try" ,I would never know that I have ability to do or not.
